A statue discovered in a now submerged ancient city in Izmir.

The Nymph was discovered in 2003 in the site of the Roman baths of Allianoi, in Izmir, Turkey.

The statue became a symbol of resistance for thousands of people opposed the submersion of Allianoi under the waters of the Yortanli Dam.

Unfortunately, in 2011 the dam came into operation and the ancient city is now submerged under millions of cubic meters of water.
